He played on the local scene for a long time in a new discipline. Later, Lincoln won several more major tournaments as a member of MIBR and was nominated for Best Player of the Decade in South America. It's noteworthy that he was the youngest participant at the time. He won his first international title at the ESWC in 2006. Lincoln is a very experienced player, as he started his career back in 2003 at the age of 13. The famous Brazilian player is known for playing in only two majors and won both! Lebron even spends over 1 mill a year on just body health alone and he's still considered a top 5 player that's playing right now even against all the 20 year olds.It should be noted that the Imperial team has not one but three oldest players and the highest average age of the team - 28 years old.įnx comes in first on this list - the player turned 32 on January 30. yet they're in great shape and put a ton into self-care. Messi, Ronaldo, Lebron, Steph Curry, etc. They wouldn't take care of their bodies and it would break down much faster, but you take a look at players nowadays and the great players tend to be older. In Sports you had to be young to compete back in the day because the older guys wouldn't be able to keep up. Players have sports psychologists, they eat right, stay hydrated, have a positive team around them, make sure their mental health is checked, etc. My favourite eSport player of all time is 37 years old and he's still winning high level tournaments to this day, his name is 'Tokido' and he plays fighting games like Street Fighter.Īlso, people are a lot better at self-care. APM becomes less important and other factors such as decision making and ability to think through difficult situations become a priority. But once you experience it, it becomes embedded in your strategy. If you've never had a last pick Huskar that completely stomps the game, you'd probably never think it was an issue or problem. As we age, we gain more experience and opportunities to learn which can directly translate to strategy. The amount of older players in eSports has increased so much overtime and there's a few big reasons. Thats all there is to it, reflex times are negligible in online games. Do you think noTail practices as much as he did before winning TI? Not a fat chance. Then put family and boredomness into account. 30x less than young players just due to how many are out there. Just based on simple number crunching, the chances of a professional player over thirty winning are already very low. When you are young, getting minimum wage for playing a game is a great job. So the pyramid gets smaller every year, there are likely 100 players under 30 playing as professionals for every 1 player over. A lot of young players retire out of boredom. Second: even if you achieved success, playing the same game for 10 + years gets boring. So either you achieved success before or you found a job to pay the bills. The thing is: when you are thirty, first you likely have a family. This whole reaction time thing is just bullshit being perpetrated ad nauseam in online game communities and is just bull shit.į1 drivers are literally the top tier reflex guys out there and they race way past 30. in dota you can buy items to counter a hero's strengths, but that concept isn't very well developed in lol. all champs are being homogenised to do everything. In lol, there isn't a system of heroes being very good at one thing and not so good at others. may as well just ff and go next, rinse repeat. Mid and endgame decision making in dota is far far more complex since there are far more impactful active items in dota and you don't have the high ground concept in league, and if one of the core Champs is ahead in gold and levels, they're going to hilariously outscale your whole team. just walk in and press buttons repeatedly. league deliberately streamlined everything so ppl don't have to think. even early game itemization in dota has a lot of things to think about. in dota there's so many many things to do, and depending on your lane partner you can pull off some cool plays if you strategize well. Laning in league is so boring i fall asleep every time I'm playing or watching and having to 8s tp to base for items every single time just kills the pacing. dota first 10mins of laning phase has more depth than an entire match of league.
